ORANGSICLE

TANK // SHORTS // NECKLACE // SUNGLASSES // SANDALS // WATCH (on sale for under $20!)

I've linked similar pieces above for you - I found these shorts the other day at H&M and needed them. I love the pale orange- kind of reminded me of a creamsicle and felt very summery, plus they are under $20! I had this ombre statement necklace in my closet from Forever 21 that I bought awhile ago. It goes perfectly! You can always find some cute statement jewelry at Forever at an affordable price. I also paired it with Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Venizia (a bright orange that dries a deeper toned orange). These liquid lipsticks are so comfortable on the lips - I only had to re apply once all day and it layered great without flaking.

CASUAL WEDNESDAY

TSHIRT // JEANS (on sale for under $50!!) // NECKLACE // PURSE // SANDALS // SUNGLASSES // LIPSTICK (wish upon a berry)

We probably should have found an indoor place to take these photos because my boyfriend and I were SWEATING taking these. Can we go back to just nice 75 degree weather already? Or maybe I should just have chose to wear SHORTS ;) How cute is this necklace though? I got it in my Rocksbox - I think it's so fun! It's just enough of a 'statement' necklace without being overwhelming. It is a Yasmin Necklace in 'Perry Street'.

POOL/BEACH DAY

I think my bag may be my favorite part of this summertime look. This way to the beach!! This bag also comes in other styles and is currently on sale for a steal. I love it because it has a zipper and a compartment for your phone on the side. It's big enough to throw your beach towel in it as well as a small makeup bag so it's really the perfect beach bag. Forever 21 has so many cute straw hats for the beach at an affordable price and so does H&M. I just picked up THIS really cute one too- it has a bow on the back. I thought it was adorable.

Hope you're staying cool in this summer HEAT.

MAKEUP MONDAY

Happy Makeup Monday! In lieu of the hot summery weather, I'm sharing my favorite cream highlighters today. I have pretty pale skin and I think all of these highlighters compliment my skin well. Since they are cream they last through the heat a little better. The two highlighters that are more pearl toned are MAC Strobe Cream and L'oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer. Both of these products I will apply onto my face first before applying foundation as a glowy primer - not at the same time of course, I'd use one or the other ;) The MAC Strobe Cream is suuuuper hydrating and a little creamier than the L'oreal Lumi. L'oreal Lumi is a bit more watery in texture. I store them both standing up instead of laying flat in a drawer. Once I had a Lumi that was laying flat and it went all watery - even after I shook it up it wasn't the greatest texture anymore. I also really enjoy NARS Illuminator in Copacabana. It is more pinky pearl toned and is a really stark highlight but when blended in its beautiful! All three of these products can be mixed in with your foundation or you can also dab a little in areas you want to highlight and then blend in. Benefit's Watts Up is another one of my favorites. It is a cream to powder finish - you can pat it directly on the areas you want to highlight. Watts Up is a more champagne golden glow. I love the name of this product, I think it's so clever. Benefit really has the cutest packaging and names for their products! These liquid and cream highlighters will leave you gleaming and ready with that healthy summer glow.

90s GRUNGE

This outfit was inspired by my choker - I used to wear chokers all the time when I was younger. Those 90's tattoo chokers - totally reminds me of that! Me and my girlfriend even were inspired by Lizzie McGuire and wore ribbons around our necks as chokers in high school. Ha! I found this one at Forever 21. I then had to pair it with a brown lip - what else. I'm wearing Kat Von D's everlasting liquid lipstick in Bow n Arrow. I have to say her liquid lipsticks are one of the best liquid lipsticks out there. They last all day and they don't flake off your lips. My cat eye sunglasses are my usual and linked HERE. I swear QUAY has the CUTEST sunglasses styles EVERRRR. I found my sandals off Instagram - a store called Navy Lane Boutique. I ordered them and I swear they came in the mail like the next day! They are so comfy and super casual. I love the leopard print ;) I also got them in rose gold. These sandals were only $14.99 and I didn't have to pay for shipping! Score ;)

SPLASH OF BLUE

TOP // NORDSTROM. DENIM SHORTS // SHOPBOP. SANDALS // TORY. SUNGLASSES // QUAY. EARRINGS & BRACELET // ROCKSBOX (code for first month free - lipstickandjulesxoxo). ALEX & ANI BRACELET & RING // NORDSTROM. WATCH // KATE SPADE.

It is SO BLISTERING HOT OUT IN CALIFORNIA! I could barely stand to put any clothes on at all - so I opted for some destroyed denim shorts and a sleeveless top. These shorts are my summer go to at the moment. One teaspoon has so many cute styles! I tossed my hair up with a hair coil, I'm obsessed with these. They are gentle on your hair and are perfect for when you just want to throw your hair up in a messy bun. They remind me of something you'd have your keys on. Kistch sells them in so many different cute colors! Lets talk about my earrings...heart eyes everywhere. I love Kendra Scott jewelry and the fact that I can 'rent' their jewelry from Rocksbox is really rocking my world. I love these turquoise statement earrings to add a pop of bright blue to my outfit. What are your favorite summertime accessories? Comment me below :)

ROCKSBOX

I'm so excited to share this with you guys! Rocksbox is just about the coolest company I've discovered so far. I'm already obsessed!! So if you haven't heard of them they are a "Premium Jewelry Subscription" box that you pay for monthly. A stylist picks out 3 pieces of jewelry for you (you answer some questions and make a wish list so they get to know your style) and you receive your box in the mail. It comes in this cute little box tied with a bow. There are so many great things about Rocksbox- it's only $19/month - you get to keep the jewelry for as long as you want - and they carry 30+ designer brands. If you decide it's time for some new jewelry you just package the pieces back up and send it back with the prepaid return label - they will have a new box on the way to you once they've received your returned box. You also have the option of buying the jewelry at a discounted price for being a member if you decide you love it too much to return.
I'm so in love with this idea - I have so many statement necklaces I've bought but only wear once in a blue moon. I love that with Rocksbox you get fresh new jewelry whenever you want after you've worn it a couple times for only $19 a month!

I was so excited to get mine in the mail and find out what pieces of jewelry I received. These are two of the pieces I received in my box pictured above. I also received a SLATE bracelet which is a simple layered gold bracelet with a little marble accent. It's the perfect simple bracelet to add to your arm candy.

The best part of this post - I have a discount code for my readers! Use the code
lipstickandjulesxoxo at checkout to receive your first month free...how cool is that?! I hope you'll enjoy Rocksbox as much as I do. It's like a little gift that you get in the mail each month or every couple of weeks :)

MAKEUP MONDAY

LASHES PLEASE. I don't know about you but I want long full lashes on the daily without having to apply falsies. I've rounded up my favorite mascaras at the moment for this Makeup Monday. I have a mix of high and low options. I do use different mascara on my bottom lashes because I've found these do not smudge onto my skin throughout the day. For my bottom lashes I really enjoy Rimmel's Lash Accelerator and Clinique's Bottom lash mascara. The lash accelerator wand is longer and when I'm in a hurry and just want to swipe on mascara I use this one - the clinique bottom lash mascara has a teeny wand perfect for grabbing those little bottom lashes. It takes a bit longer to apply but it is a very neat application, I don't tend to make a mess on my skin with the clinique mascara. If any mascara does get on my skin when applying - I wait for it to dry and then it just flakes right off with a q tip or one of my eye makeup brushes.

For my top lashes I alternate mascaras depending how I feel that day. Loreal Voluminous Original and Covergirl The Super Sizer are my favorite drugstore mascaras. The Voluminous mascara really helps to make my lashes look fuller - it is a thickening mascara. The wand is full and straight. Covergirl's The Super Sizer helps to lengthen and extend my lashes. This mascara really helps to separate my lashes making them look longer. The formula is a bit thinner on the super sizer and the wand goes from big to a little smaller on one end. I sometimes will use both the Voluminous and Super Sizer together on my lashes (letting it dry in between coats) to get full luscious lashes. All of these mascaras are super pigmented and black. The blacker the mascara the more your eyes stand out. My favorite high end mascara is Dior's Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara. I love how this curls my lashes and thickens their appearance. This mascara has a thicker formula and the wand is really full with a bend to it. It is super luxiourious and totally worth the splurge. I always curl my lashes before applying any mascara as well to help with that curl! I like Tarte's Lash Curler. It seems to really curl my lashes compared to others I have tried. Another side note- you should throw away any mascara after 6 months! Time for some new mascara at that point- no need for an eye infection ;)

I hope you all have a great week ahead of you.
